Hi Reiner O.

Thanks for the comment! The Wasatch are still proving strong for me. But one thing I would recommend doing that really boosts their longevity is to wash them once every 6 months with Nikwax Tech wash for boots. It brushes the nubuck and makes it look nearly new as well as increasing breathability, waterproofness with the GTX, and elasticity in the material. I have had these for almost two years and use them all seasons. Hope you enjoy them too. Cheers. ST

I've been wearing this particular boot for three plus years now but that said I am on my fourth pair. The reason I keep repurchasing this boot is because of my narrow european feet and Vasque makes a "narrow" version in this model. This is the first hiker I've found that fits decently from day one. Yes, there is a break in period but the latest pair I am just starting to break in are taking no time at all as I have noticed no pressure points from the get-go.

I use these boots almost daily as a handy-man, and also on hikes. Personally I thought these boots would have lasted me a couple years at a time but I am doing good if I can get a year out of them which happened only once because I did not use them as much my first year. Eight months is about the average. I'm only 150 lbs so it's not like I weigh a tone, because the heavier one is the more pounding it is on the boot...I think. Just don't think the quality of workmanship is there but that's just my opinion. I need good foot-ware so to keep my feet happy as well as the rest of my body I'll fork out the coin for the Wasatch GTX Hiker to make it happen.
